Deoxycholic acid injected into submental fat (double chin) in a grid pattern, destroying fat cell membranes. The destroyed cells are permanently removed by the body over 4–8 weeks. Multiple sessions (typically 2–4) are required for full correction. Unlike liposuction, Kybella requires no anaesthesia or incisions — but the swelling after each session is significant (1–2 weeks) and the treatment is painful. Results are permanent for the destroyed fat cells. Best for patients with mild-to-moderate submental fat accumulation; significant cases are better addressed with liposuction. Significant swelling should be anticipated and scheduled around social commitments.

Three sessions. Jawline definition I've never had. The swelling is serious but temporary. A year later the result is holding.

Effective but the post-treatment swelling is genuinely significant — plan to take time off. If your case is large, liposuction is a more efficient route.
